Museum aan de Strom – Antwerp, Belgium
The citizens of Antwerp call their new ship museum the “Museum aan de Strom”. It is located in the historic Bonaparte Dock on the boundary between the old city and a newly built development. The history of the port and shipping of Antwerp should be on display in the museum. The project uses an existing storage hall as one of the exhibits and in contrast with it a new exhibition area is being built. A dock with harbored ships and, with a bit of exaggeration, the whole city will be part of the exhibition.
