Letenské sady – the Western entrance and the surroundings of the Hanavský pavilion
Letenské sady is a place of citywide significance, with important historic ties. The central motto of the designed modifications is the aim to make the park more attractive and to offer the visitor several options to stop, sit down and rest.
The concept of the modifications; especially the communications, the movables and the rest, is simple, discreet and lacking architectonic flashiness in order to hold up in the entire park and all its’ various precincts. In both designed segments the ground plan of the communications is preserved with only slight changes. The functional hierarchy of the communications is supported by materials used for the surface; for the main skater communications engrained bituminous asphalt is used, cobble stones are used only as a welt. Narrow pathways to the Hanav pavilion or on the embankment will be entirely cobbled. The design endeavors to smooth down the boundaries between communications and greenery; communications are lined with granite cobble stones spread into the lawns as well as the pavement under park benches and sittings with tables. We invite the visitors of the park onto the grassed areas.
